Swirl & Sparkle Your Way Through the 20s!

Updated: Jan 31

This year has already been a buzz of busyness for me, and I am so delighted to introduce a new GiGi Approved product to all of you Divas that is now available from Savvy Derm Diva herself! I am also very excited about entering a new decade of opportunity. Shall we repeat the Roaring 20s motto known as “anything goes”? I, personally, love this catchphrase because it encapsulates the courage to try new things and push yourself to the limit.

It is interesting to know that 100 years ago, the boom of the beauty revolution started and mass production of goods became available for the first time. There were so many inventions back then that are still utilized today such as synthetic soaps, compacts, and indelible lipsticks? Cupids bow, anyone? In particular, though, I want to discuss soap. It wasn’t until after 1916 that soaps were made out of synthetic ingredients and are currently known as “detergents” today. Typically, back then, soap was made out of animal and vegetable fats but there was a tremendous shortage of these natural ingredients secondary to WWI and then again after WWII. The lack of these items forced the creation of synthetic soaps that we are all familiar with today.

Interestingly, we are now converting back and wanting what we originally had, which are all-natural products. With consumers demanding more of these types of goods today, there is a selection of fantastic commodities that are available which are popular as ever and, better yet, now cruelty-free.

So, let’s get the skinny about soap. Soap is an excellent tool to remove the “dirt” from our skin that presents as grease or oil. We all know that water and oil do not mix. The soap is the connector as it includes surfactants (the part that creates bubbles), which help reduce the surface tension of water and allow the oil, grease, and water to interact. Voila, you can then wash all the dirt away!

Enter, Savvy Derm Diva’s Swirl & Sparkle, a handcrafted makeup brush cleanser with my trade logo of lips inside to bring a smile to your face with each use! It has a mild and pleasant scent of toasted marshmallow and will become the new best friend for your brushes. We already know that soaps play a vital role in our daily lives and help prevent the spread of disease and infection. Did you ever think about your makeup brushes and all of the contact that is made not only with your face, but products, and countertops? They can be full of bacteria such as E.coli, Streptococcus, and Staphylococcus in addition to dead skin and makeup residue. Without cleansing makeup brushes, you are only adding more of these unwanted materials to them and ultimately to your face. Not only can the application of your makeup get compromised, but you are at an increased risk of infection and acne flares. NO, thank you!

With the cleanser full of only natural ingredients such as goat’s milk, coconut oil, safflower oil, palm oil, oat conditioner, glycerin, you get the assurance you are using a product that is simple, pure and most importantly, GiGi Approved. So, start melting all that “dirt” away with the new “Bestie for Your Brushes” must-have for an optimal skin glow and remember the sky’s the limit! MUAH💋

Diva Tip: Cleaning your brushes 3-4X/month is optimal.
